Born in London, Simon was educated at Trinity College, Oxford, where he studied philosophy, politics and economics.

His career began as a journalist, editing magazines related to finance, banking and the law, and eventually becoming head of product strategy at Euromoney PLC. 

Permanent Style began as a hobby, a side project that enabled Simon to express his views on style and quality in men's clothing. Over the next 10 years it grew to be a global authority on luxury and crafted menswear.

Today Simon writes for Permanent Style as well as the FT, Robb Report and other magazines, and is the author of six books. He is celebrated as a style icon around the world, and consults with a variety of brands and artisans.   

Simon is married with three daughters. He lives in East Dulwich, London.
